Sisters, the year is winding down.  It’s time to start gathering all
your pictures and records and work on your Year end reports.  Our
Department Convention is going to be at the Phoenix Marriott in
Mesa and I’m looking forward to see you get your awards.  This is a
small reward for all the work and dedication that we have as we
Stand By Our Veterans.

At our last Department Council of Administration Meeting eight
District Presidents were presented with a Medallion reaching 90%
on membership.  Thank You!!  Do not stop now, Department is at
95.65% let’s keep working and reach 100%.    Now is the time to
pick up the phone and make those personal calls.

I will be going to Washington, DC on March 5-10, 2010 for the Voice
of Democracy/ Legislative Conference.   Commander Joe Reagan
and I will have the honor to escort our Voice of Democracy Student
down the Winner’s Aisle.

The Auxiliary National Mid Year Conference will be at Harrah’s in
Las Vegas, Nevada  on March 18-21, 2010.  I’m very excited to be
able to attend this Conference and go to the Night on the Town with
the National President and other Department Presidents - thank
you so much.  You made it possible by working and getting
Department to 90% on membership by December 31.   Since this
conference is so close to Arizona, I encourage you all to come and
see your national organization at work.  On Saturday morning there
will be a National Council of Administration meeting and on
Saturday afternoon the National Directors will promote their
programs.  This is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet sisters
from other states and to catch up with friends that you made at
National Convention in Phoenix.  I will make a full report when I
get back!

Sisters, I look forward to seeing you at the Wanda Stuart Gamble
Against Cancer on March 27, 2010 at VFW Post 4903 Tucson.
Please look at your Pin Points for hotel information.  All volunteers
are welcome.  Call Ronnie!!  And this is not just for VFW and
Auxiliary members, invite your family and friends.
Sisters, many of us have been personally touched by cancer or we
know of someone that is fighting cancer.  Did you know that there
are so many types of cancer?   So, why are we not keeping our
Sisters informed?

January- National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month
February – National Cancer Prevention Month,
March – National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month,
April – Cancer Control Month, Testicular Cancer Awareness Week,
Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week,  Head & Neck Cancer
Awareness Week, Minority Cancer Awareness Week
May – National Skin Cancer Awareness, Brain Tumor Action Week,
Blood Cancer Advocacy Days, Oncology Nurses Month.  These are
just a few…..every month we should be doing something to fight
cancer!

Sisters, if you have questions or need literature please contact your
Department Cancer Chairman.  If you have not been able to make
a donation, you still have time to hold a dinner, raffle, or a cancer
drive.

Thank you for everything that you do for our veterans and YES!  It’
s TIME for America’s Military Heroes
